US YOUTH SOCCER NATIONAL LEAGUE TO
WRAP UP INAUGURAL SEASON APRIL 3-6
The fourth and final round of games for the
US
Youth Soccer National League will take place at the Ross Stewart
Soccer Complex in Plano, Texas, a suburb of Dallas. Champions will be
named in the Under-15 Girls and Under-16 Boys and Girls categories at the
end of these games. The top four teams in the National League will retain
their slots in the league for the 2008-09 seasons, provided that the teams
meet all eligibility requirements. The league will look to add the
Under-17 age group, boys and girls, in 2008. The Baltimore Casa Mia Bays
were already named as the Under-15 Boys champion in December.

Youth Soccer ODP Girls 1990 Regional teams are set to compete in an
international tournament in San Jose, Costa Rica April 4-12. One player

REFEREE PROGRAM RESPONSE TO PADDED GOAL
STRUCTURES
The U.S. Soccer Federation Referee Program sent a memo regarding
padded goal structures. An issue has recently arisen regarding whether,
under the Laws of the Game, the goalposts and/or the crossbar may be
padded. Despite these understandable concerns and good intentions,
U.S. Soccer cannot approve the use of padding on goalposts or crossbars in
