2008 Kohl's American Cup to Allow Use of Guest Players

The 2008 Kohl's American Cup will again be hosted by Oldham County YSA at Buckner Soccer Complex the weekends of June 7-8 and June 14-15 (if necessary).

This tournament is open to any properly registered and formed Kentucky Youth Soccer recreational team, mixed or girls, aged U10-U16.

NEW in 2008, Kentucky Youth Soccer has made changes to the Recreational Tournament policies, each team will now be able to add three (3) Guest Players to replace rostered players who are unable to participate in the tournament. To read the entire policy, please click here.

Since many recreational are unaware on how to add guest players to their tournament roster, please follow the instructions below:

Click here to open the Kentucky e-Travel System
From the Pull down Menu, select the “Guest Player Form” and hit the go button
Once the page comes up, please fill out the form completely and hit the submit button
A form should come up. You need to print a copy of that form and bring to Check-in.

You can apply for the tournament without having recruited any guest players, only do the paperwork when you know a player from your team can not attend and you have found a player who's team is not participating and who wants to guest play with your team.

2007 Kohl's American Cup Album

The 2007 Kohl’s American Cup was completed over the weekend of June 16-17 at the Oldham County Soccer Complex in Buckner, Kentucky. The tournament included a record 102 teams, 54 mixed and 48 girls in the Under 10 through Under 16 age groups

Other than some warm weather on both weekends, the weather cooperated and we were able to get all the games in without a single delay. Once again the competition during both weekends was very good producing several close outcomes in both semi-final and final games.

The Kentucky Youth Soccer Association (KYSA) American Cup was initiated and organized to enhance the accomplishments recreational players achieve by participating is a state championship tournament.

The development of all players within KYSA is advanced when the player meets personal challenges. The American Cup is designed to encourage and honor the recreational player by allowing the player to compete for both team and personal goals.

This tournament is structured so that, regardless of ability, all players can realistically strive for the goal of becoming a state champion.
